The protein puzzle 🧩
How much is too much? AKA the Meat Sweats Revolt!
Happy Sunday!
The aim of GOALszn and this newsletter is for us to learn new fitness lessons together. Last week, we challenged everyone to up their protein intake using the calculation of [0.8x*pounds of body weight] and tell us what y'all thought.
And boy, did we get feedback.
This challenge sparked SO much debate. Some folks felt like it was way too much protein and suffered from meat sweats and dizziness, while others said it was too easy and logged their challenge on day three without another thought.
Ultimately, we asked folks to try something new, and they rose to the (literal) challenge, which is great! And we came to a conclusion that applies across the board in the fitness world: You must check sources and listen to your body to determine what's right for you.
We came across multiple conflicting sources on how much protein is too much and concluded there's no black-and-white answer to be given. What works for one of us doesn't work for the other, but the beauty of this challenge is that it got all of us thinking about how much protein we do eat and whether that's the ideal amount for us.

CHALLENGE TIME
Since one of the values of GOALszn is novelty and keeping things fresh, the challenge this week is to either 1) try a step aerobics class and send us a video/photo -OR- 2) try your best to follow along with this video of hip hop step aerobics and tag us/ send us the clip!
