GOALszn is a game to track workouts with friends—but it’s also a community that has your back in other areas of life. Recently, a teammate shared how tough it’s been to stay motivated with everything happening in the world and asked for advice on how others are staying positive.

Here’s what the GOALszn community had to say about battling negative energy and staying motivated:

  • Go Full Delulu: Best summed up by this quote: “The one thing I’ve been saying for a while now is all we have is our mental, physical, and financial health. That’s it. So I’ve decided to focus on making those the best they can be while still enjoying life (yes, I’m delulu and loving it). Also, I’m a raver girlie, and dancing is my catharsis.” 💃🏽 Partially inspired by this post:

  • Actionable Tips: Exercise, pick up a hobby, find peace in a quiet room with a heavy blanket

  • Circles of Control: Focus on what you can control. Here’s a helpful diagram someone shared to guide your thinking:

    Inner circle: Things you have complete control over.
    Blue layer: Things you can influence.
    Gray layer: Things you have no control over

  • Double Down on Joy–Zero Guilt! Spend time doing things that bring you joy with people you love—and work on not feeling guilty about stepping away from things that weigh you down.

  • Cold Plunging: A game-changer for some, as it helps you learn to control your breathing during moments of shock, frustration, or overwhelm.

At the end of the day, we all cope in different ways, but the common thread is the focus on what we can control, like our mental, physical, and financial health.
